Tom Vick Elected to State Bar of Texas Board of Directors

Austin--- G. Thomas Vick, Jr., former Weatherford Mayor and Weatherford ISD Board member, and partner in the law firm Vick, Carney & Smith, L.L.P. was sworn in as a member of the State Bar of Texas Board of Directors during the organization's annual meeting in Dallas June 23-24.

Vick is active in numerous legal and community organizations, including serving as the immediate past chair of the State Bar Family Law Section, and a Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation. Vick earned a B. A. form Austin College, and a J. D. from South Texas College of Law. He is board certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He is currently the President of the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists. Members of the 46-member State Bar of Texas Board of Directors are elected to serve staggered three-year terms. The board oversees fiscal, administrative and public policy compliance of the State Bar, which is comprised of approximately 76,000 lawyers.
